Dawson County Middle School seventh grade basketball coach Steven Moates and his team defeated Gilmer County, 28-20, last Friday in Dawsonville.
It was the opening game for both teams this season.
“It was a good start to the season. I was pleased that they showed us several different defenses and we were able to put points on the board. Of course, we have some things that we need to work on,” remarked Moates.
He also added: “Turnovers and rebounding are two areas that we will continue to focus on in the next couple of weeks during practice.”
J.T. Eggert led all Tiger scorers with 10 points. Ross Walters also had a good game offensively, contributing nine points.
