After winning the championship game recently, the Dawson County 7U Tigers All-Stars, also known as the Big Daddy Trolls, are moving on to compete in the state tournament this weekend in Rome.
"They are special," said coach Brandon Weaver. "[The team] went to district from a team that never played together."
The Tigers won district following a championship game with a final score of 28-13 on June 23.
The teams goal is make it to the "World Series" in Mississippi.
"We want to represent our community," Weaver said. "We are going to Rome to represent."
Good support of the parents makes Weaver's job easier, he said.
"The parents are awesome."
The tournament for state starts this weekend in Rome, where 24 teams are expected to compete.
"I'm glad to get the opportunity to coach this age group," Weaver said. "They are a good group of boys."
The team is made up of Braedon Crane, Sawyer Bearden, Gus Martin, Brayden Aiken, Calen Swaite, Jonathan Powell, Briggs Weaver, Julian Horner, Chase Adams, Hunter Cofield and Riley Cleveland. The team's coaches include; Donnie Adams, Mark Crane, Brandon Weaver, Harley Cofield and Andrew Lovingood.
