Boys from Dawson County and surrounding counties learned basketball fundamentals at the Tiger Boys Basketball Camp last week at Rock Creek Park.
"It's just good to have a good turnout," said Coach Jonathan Tinsley, who coaches for Dawson County Middle School. "I was just glad to see all the guys work really hard every day."
More than 50 boys participated in the camp this year, which taught basketball fundamentals through the playing of games and competition.
After passing out t-shirts to the boys a few received awards for various accomplishments.
Ethan Smith and Chase Culpepper received trophies for best free throws. Luke Hamby and Jake Moore received trophies for best hot shots and one-on-one. Prestan Burt and Luke Smith received trophies for best campers.
The award winners said they enjoyed playing basketball and being surrounded by their friends and great coaches.
Thanks to the camp, "Dawson county basketball will be thriving for years to come," Tinsley said.
The camp was open to boys ages 7 to 14.
